OUR HISTORY
FOUNDED IN PRE-WAR NEW YORK CITY BY BROTHERS brothers George and David Rashes, Central Plumbing Specialties began as a plumbing supply business. After pausing operations during World War II, the company incorporated in 1963. More than two decades later, it was acquired by Seymour (“Frank”) Frankel and a partner.
IN 1989 LEADERSHIP PASSED TO FRANKEL’S SONS, who expanded the business across New York City. Central Plumbing Specialties became a trusted, family-owned wholesale and retail supplier serving contractors, builders, and homeowners throughout the five boroughs and surrounding counties.
To complement its plumbing supply business, the company launched GRANDE CENTRAL SHOWROOMS, offering high-end kitchen and bath fixtures, hardware, lighting, and design-focused products. Strong demand led to multiple showroom locations in the city, as well as Yonkers and Rockland County.
IN 2020, CPS JOINED TRADE SUPPLY GROUP, attracted by their commitment to customer service and strengthening its reach across the Tri-State area. In 2025, TSG acquired Ricky’s, a respected Long Island plumbing supplier built over 35 years by the Domenico family, whose hands-on leadership, deep relationships, and commitment to customer service earned enduring trust and made Ricky’s a natural fit within the unified brand.
